Get your MOTORCYCLES Licence

In Ontario, obtaining a motorcycle driver's license follows a distinct process separate from acquiring a license for other vehicles. Once you've fulfilled the required waiting periods and gained sufficient experience, you can schedule a road test. Motorcycle road tests for classes M2 and M are offered from mid-May to mid-October each year, weather permitting. Booking for motorcycle road tests commences on May 1st. To ensure availability and prevent any inconvenience, it's advisable to plan ahead and schedule the test in alignment with your motorcycle license expiry date. It's worth noting that if you hold a combined license, such as a GM2 license, the date indicated on the license card may pertain to the other license rather than the motorcycle license.

Vehicle Requirements

Vehicle Requirements for Your Road Test. Before your road test, the driver examiner must perform a basic vehicle check to ensure your vehicle is fit for the purpose. The driver examiner may request your assistance to ensure your vehicle is safe (i.e., trying the turn signals, brake lights, windshield, tire pressure, damage, etc.) When you arrive for your test, please park your vehicle and go inside the DriveTest Centre to check in. Most centers have a self-serve kiosk for check-in; see a customer service agent if yours does not. After check-in, return to your vehicle and wait for the driver examiner. If your driver examiner does not arrive at your vehicle within 30 minutes of your appointment time, please return to the customer service dispatch counter directly.
